Numarine’s new stunning flagship is the 37XP model. At 37 m, she is the largest Numarine yacht ever. Unveiled for the first time at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, the unit #1 has a Hot Lab decoration package – the superyacht features a stylish decor from the sophisticated Italian studio.

The Numarine 37XP combines a refined but easily recognizable aesthetics with an ambitiously conceived functionality to deliver a first-class yachting experience,” said Omer Malaz, Chairman of Numarine.

The 37XP has the same beam as the 32XP, yet five extra meters were added forward of the engine room bulkhead adding to the guest and crew accommodation volume as well as the upper deck and sky lounge.

The superyacht sports a full displacement steel hull with a composite superstructure. She’s an impressive 345 GT with a 5,000 nautical mile range at 10 knots, which is on par with the world’s best expedition yachts in this class. The 37XP has the appropriate stability, seakeeping, maneuverability, and general handling to support offshore and worldwide cruising.

Excellent design

The collaboration behind the design remains the same with the shipyard’s long-time partners – Umberto Tagliavini is responsible for the naval architecture and Can Yalman is in charge of the exterior.

“The lines on the 37XP are a refinement of the robust look of the 32XP with flowing softer lines that extenuate the longer length, with less interruptions that create a balance between strength and elegance,” said Yalman.

The interior decoration of the first 37XP is by Hot Lab. This is the second Numarine project with the Milan-based studio. Grey, white, beige and brown tones dominate the interior creating a special atmosphere on board. A lot of natural light fill up the space through huge windows – they are the key feature for the entire XP Series range. The designers used a number of freestanding furniture from the famous brands, such as Fendi Casa, Promemoria, Giorgetti, and so on.

Said Hot Lab Partner Enrico Lumini“We received a few reference images and comments on what the owner wanted. Something more classic than his previous Numarine, richer in terms of details and materials and this is exactly what we are good at. It is the perfect classic. It is simply a modern revision of pure decorative elements and rich materials: ebony, mother of pearl, great quality leather. All of them merged into a balanced and straight forward design.”

All about space

The yacht has a spacious interior with several social areas. The main deck saloon and cabins benefit from large windows and are filled with sunlight. Said Ali Tanir, Head of International Sales at Numarine“The windows are from ceiling to the floor. On the portside, we have a big opening window next to the dining table. Moreover, Hot Lab designed the decoration package for this yacht. So as you can see, she’s amazing.”

The aft beach club features a bathing platform and an inside lounge literally sitting on the water level. Wide outside spaces are another major advantage of the new model.

The wide body flybridge is almost 10 m long and it turns into 80 sq. m space. The 37XP #1 hosts seven guest cabins on board, including the master suite on the main deck – in the bow. In addition, there are a huge VIP cabin amidships on the lower deck and owner’s suite on the upper deck. This space is exciting and has direct connection to the vast outside terrace via a glass door. That terrace, while underway, is used as a tender storage. The 37XP can carry up to 9 m long tender. And when it’s launched, the area may be used for outside sports or sunbathing or parties.

37XP #4 sold with Denison Yachting
On the verge of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021, Numarine sold the 4th unit of the 37XP Series. The deal was stroked with a client by Ali Tanir, Head of International Sales of the shipyard, and Denison Yachting’s broker Alex G. Clarke along with Artie Davenport of Galati Yachts representing the buyer.

This yacht can feature a 6-cabin layout to accommodate 12 guests and a private skylounge. There are crew accommodations for seven with a captain’s cabin. Hull #4 of the Numarine 37XP series comes with plenty of top-quality features and amenities including a designated beach club, sundeck Jacuzzi, and a boat deck that can carry up to a 8.5-meter tender + 3 jet skis.

This is the third 37XP sold by Denison in the past six months, each to American clients. The fourth Numarine 37XP will be launched in late 2022.

55m Al Waab II, the longest steel and aluminium yacht by Alia Yachts

August 2, 2021 Leave a comment

Alia Yachts launches 55m Al Waab II, the longest steel and aluminium yacht below 500GT in the world

  • –  Antalya-based Alia Yachts has launched its new 55-metre superyacht Al Waab II following an extremely challenging two-year contract time
  • –  Al Waab II remains below the 500GT threshold by emphasising the hull form and exterior areas, including a sprawling beach club
  • –  The official World debut will take place late September 2021

The new 55-metre Al Waab II is the first superyacht to be launched from the new 2,000- tonne capacity ship lift, part of a wider investment by the Antalya Free Zone into its yachtbuilding infrastructure that includes bigger cranes and travel lifts as well as new hangars for superyacht construction and refit projects.

“We’re very proud of Al Waab II. We believe it is the longest steel and aluminium yacht below 500GT in the world, setting a new standard in external & internal volumes offered to a client in

this category.” says Alia President, Gökhan Çelik. “Yachts are getting longer and wider, but owners still want to stay below the 500GT mark. We’ve seen increasing interest in this kind of yacht and so to be one of the first with such an impressive project is an important milestone for Alia.”

Notwithstanding the many challenges faced by Alia and other shipyards during the Covid-19 pandemic, the launch took place only a few weeks behind the original build schedule.

“The last two years have been difficult, but we took a lot of health and safety measures, and to offset delays experienced by our European suppliers we worked around the problem and found ways to recreate lost time,” continues Çelik. “The fact we’ve done it in just over two years despite everything is a credit to the determination of the men and women who work here.”

Al Waab II remains below the 500GT threshold by emphasising the hull form and exterior areas, including a sprawling beach club. With design and engineering by Vripack and

Dubai-based SF Yachts serving as the owner’s representative during the build, the yacht can sleep up to 12 guests in six staterooms and includes a lavish split-level master suite on the upper deck.

“The owner wanted a customised yacht that feels modern, fresh and most importantly like a home, and by that he means comfort, space, luxury, privacy and stability at sea,” says Francesco Pitea, CEO of SF Yachts. “The amount of outdoor space and the simplicity of the layout makes a big difference to the owner’s enjoyment of his yacht. It’s a dream moment after two years of hard work. We at SF Yachts couldn’t be more proud of Al Waab II and the amazing collaborations with Vripak and Alia.”

“For many owners, the concept of enjoying a ‘home at sea’ is what drives their passion for yachting,” says Bart Bouwhuis, Co-creative Director at Vripack. “The owner of Al Waab II had the explicit desire to use his boat as a family apartment. That desire became the founding principle of the entire design. The result is the very essence of living on the water.”

Once outfitting is complete, Al Waab II will undergo sea trials before delivery to her owner. The official World debut will take place late September 2021.

Mazu 82, a high-tech-yet-stylish creation of Mazu Yachts

October 13, 2020 Leave a comment

MAZU 82, A HIGH TECH-YET-STYLISH CREATION IS EQUAL PARTS SUPERYACHT AND CRUISER

-Full photography now available

-Bespoke interior design by Turkish designer Tanju Özelgin

-Mazu and Özelginaimed to create an onboard ambience more in tune with land-based architecture, creating a chic yet warm and inviting feeling

-The exterior profile of the 82-footer is characterised by the flush main deck with no steps and the angular lines of the all-glass deckhouse

-To create a chic yet warm and inviting feeling, walnut and leather has been used for the furniture

Built of a lightweight carbon composite, the Mazu 82 combines a clean profile, expansive decks and large hull windows with the outstanding performance, efficiency and handling.

The celebrated Turkish designer Tanju Özelgin created the interior layout and design of the Mazu 82. Working closely with the shipyard, Özelgin optimised the generous volume and large hull windows, combining subtle textures, muted colours, and both direct and indirect light to create a vibe of understated elegance.

The end result is an interior design that perfectly complements the edgy exterior styling of the Mazu 82, designed in-house by the shipyard’s founder, Halit Yukay: “The interior and the exterior should never be defined as two different aspects but should be seen as a whole as one is the extension of the other,” refers Yukay. “Both should create a coherent unity and reflect the main mood and feelings the designer intended.”

The exterior profile of the 82-footer is characterised by the flush main deck with no steps and the angular lines of the all-glass deckhouse. Wherever possible the shipyard has used one-piece glass panes, which meant increasing their thickness in accordance with class requirements.

Hence the tempered and laminated windshield is over 22mm thick and with a PVB interlayer is literally bulletproof. The glass is also extra clear to eliminate distortion and reflections. Three openable ‘portholes’ at the front of the superstructure provide natural ventilation while under way. With its sliding aluminium roof, custom-made by OPAC in Italy, the main deck has an airy, loft-like feel.

On special request of the owner, Mazu modified the aft deck design to include terraced steps leading down to the swim platform. These steps function as built-in furniture so guests can sit down (they are wide enough to even lie down) and still converse with other guests.

“Multifunctional design was very important for the owner,” continues Yukay. “In fact, the open foredeck has three different uses: as a sunbathing area, a dining area for 12 people, and a screen can be set up to turn it into an open-air cinema.”

Unique interior design

Tanju Özelgin is a designer renowned for its ability to transmit meaning in design through subtle and abstract uses of form, symbol and material. He is widely recognised for his distinct style that is contemporary and abstract yet deeply aware of the fundamentals of human nature and environment.

These same signature qualities distinguish the interior design aboard the new Mazu 82.

“The main challenge with yacht interiors is that the space mostly never stands still and is constantly surrounded by water, says the Turkish designer, who aimed to create an onboard ambience more in tune with land-based architecture. “This aspect will direct your decisions regarding which materials to use, the weight and scale of every piece of furniture, and whether or not the furniture is anchored to the decks or built-in.”

A major challenge for all yacht designers and builders is to draw in as much natural light as possible into the interior. In this regard, the Mazu 82 boasts very large deckhouse windows and strip glazing in the hull. In particular, the sliding sunroof, custom-made by OPAC in Italy, and 9-sqm windshield of ultra-clear laminated and tempered glass, lend the interior an airy, loft-like feel.

“The space has to be as compact and light as possible without losing the illusion of feeling at home or in a cosy hotel,” says the interior designer. “This was one of our key aspects during the design phase of the yacht: to create a space that feels more as if you were in your own house with all the familiarity and comfort that comes with it.”

Artificial lighting is just as important as natural illumination and has to be both functional and atmospheric. For this reason, a bespoke lighting system was developed for the Mazu 82.

“Lighting is an important tool for the designer to create an atmosphere and mood, which further improves the design of the space,” says Özelgin. “It is an extension of the feelings the designer wants to express and should always be considered as an reflection of the overall design.”

To create a chic yet warm and inviting feeling, walnut and leather has been used for the furniture – exclusively built by Mazu – while the walls are decorated with metallic finishes and teak paneling that has been textured and stained grey. The textiles and carpets were specially designed for the boat, as were the doors made of bronzed tempered glass and the stainless steel hardware that has been treated using thin-film deposit (PVD) techniques in the same bronze hue.

“The chosen materials are as light as possible and the textures give a sense of spaciousness with a touch of warmth”  – says Özelgin.

The yacht is fitted with a state-of-the-art audio system (JL Audio for the exterior and Dali for the interior), which meant that close attention was paid to noise damping. Leather and Alcantara cladding and upholstery throughout help to mute unwanted sound.

The wet surfaces are of a special synthetic material that has a soft leather-like finish, while the bathroom faucets and accessories are by luxury hardware brand Gessi. The high-end galley equipment was supplied by Gaggenau.

– A “boutique style” production for the happy few that merges extreme quality and obsession to detail
– Current range consists of two models Z44 and Z55 developed by Mulder Design and  Cor D. Rover
– Timeless, recognizable exterior design and custom made interiors
– New models to be unveiled during 2018
– Zeelander Yachts reported a +40% increase in new motoryacht sales in 2017 and has a solid order book for 2018
Best New Powerboat in 35 feet and over category award has been achieved at the 2017 Newport International Boat Show for the Z55’s outstanding quality, top-tier design and superb seagoing skills.
Zeelander Yachts is delighted to report that the 2017 has been a successful year in the Dutch shipyard’s history. The yard reports a 40% increase in new yacht sales last year and has a healthy order book for 2018.

We had an amazing year filled with events, premieres, awards and, most importantly, sales”, said Leonardo van den Berg, Commercial Director at Zeelander Yachts. “Even being a boutique style production oriented yard – half of the boats were sold through partners/brokers. Also there was much movement in the Zeelander 44 market with several boats changing hands/owners. One of the most important of our achievement is the fact that – in January 2017 – we’ve opened our new yard in Groot-Ammers, where we have already built four Zeelander Z55s. Now are working on new, bigger projects that are about to hit the market for 2018 and 2019”.
Founded in 2002, the company specializes on production of high-end motoryachts that marry form and function to efficient performance with the highest possible standard. The current range includes two models, Z44 and flagship Z55. The Z44 is an instantly-recognizable lobster-style cruiser with a modern twist and powerful motor, capable of reaching 35 knots, panoramic views and spacious interior with one or two cabins. The Z55is the ideal step-up from the 44-feet model, offering even roomier cockpit and three cabins. After she’s been presented in 2017, Zeelander’s largest model to date – immediately received strong demand from owners and acclaims from expert luxury yachting community.
An example? The Best New Powerboat in 35 feet and over category award has been achieved at the 2017 Newport International Boat Show for the Z55’s outstanding quality, top-tier design and superb seagoing skills.

The new facilities, which are fully owned by Zeelander Yachts, are world-class indeed. Craftsmen from all the different disciplines involved in building a premium Zeelandermotoryacht – from engineering to construction, from joinery to metalwork – have access to the very latest equipment in order to make the most of their timeless skills.
Our Groot-Ammers yard has a 2000 m2 footprint on an impressive 20000 m2 waterfront plot”, comments Leonardo van den Berg. “We can build up to three boats at a time and have a six boat per year total capacity, based on the Z55. We do our own design together with renowned Cor D. Rover, detail engineering, sales and marketing.”
Overall Zeelander Yachts have built and sold over 30 yachts, most of them on the US market. But there’s growing interest in these elegant boats in other areas of the world.
Leonardo van den Berg confirmed: “At this point the USA is still our biggest market. However, we are very active in Europe too with a focus on the French Côte d’Azur, and we had strong results at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September”.
Zeelander Yachts has aspiring plans for the year 2018. First, the company plans to further grow brand awareness in Europe and the Americas and create an exclusive community for the owners. Moreover, the shipyard’s expertise extends far beyond 55-feet yachts and this year it projects to unveil a couple of new larger models. More details will be released later.

– Two superyacht tenders on display at Quai Jarlan and new Tenders Area
– 38 soft top, launched last June, now delivered in South of France
– 42 walk-around, to be delivered early August

Turkish boutique yacht designer and builder Mazu Yachts confirms two new superyacht tenders to be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show 2017 (September 27-30, 2017).

Mazu Yachts will show two new “sexy” models: 38 soft top and 42 walk-around. Both are equally perfect overnight cruisers or superyacht tenders thanks to yard’s ability in customization of style, layout and decor.

MAZU 38 SOFT TOP
All-new Mazu 11.9m/38′ soft top has been delivered to his lucky owner in Saint Tropez this July 2017.

Designed by Halit Yukay, the yacht has been sold to a European client. He desired to achieve a real “military look” able to combine latest luxury superyacht tender amenities and trendy elegance.

The owner of Mazu 38 soft top is an “Armani style enthusiast”. The yard so decided to use as many different textures of leathers and fabrics as possible – all from Foglizzo and a number of mirrors to give the maximum depth interiors perception, like in a loft condo.

Halit Yukay also designed a fantastic indoors lighting mood from the Italian supplier Cantalupi to enhance Mazu 38 dramatic feeling. New Mazu 38 soft top is so equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS 400 engines and the boat claim to reach a top speed of 34 knots.

MAZU 42 WALK-AROUND
The largest Mazu’s model to be shown, the new 42 walk-around, to be delivered early August 2017, has an overall length of 11.99 meters and a maximum beam of 3.7 meters. The center console, perfectly protected by a real modern superstructure, leaves room for two ample lateral walk-arounds. The yacht has a freeboard that is high enough to allow safety movement on deck even while at sea in combination with sportive profile with and military twist overtones.

On-deck comfort is assured by the ample sun bathing area near the stern, while forward the cockpit is complete with a V-shaped settee and a second settee forward of the  console. The size of the aft platform has allowed the yard to create a true seaside terrace, ideal not only  while  at  anchor  but  also  when  moored  to  the  jetty,  facilitating  coming  aboard and going ashore. The presence of a mobile kitchen with Gaggenau appliances ensures leisurely and pleasurable times when at anchor.

Two 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 give the Mazu 42 walk-around a top speed of 47 knots, with a cruising speed of 32 knots.

Numarine 105 HT, first class experience of Numarine Yachts

The model is an exceptional sport yacht able to emphasize all the great Numarine attributes, like an innovative exterior design, an efficient and seaworthy hull, great exterior living spaces and spacious interiors, all coupled with a very robust but weight-efficient construction thanks to vacuum-infusion technology and state of the art noise, vibration and harshness suppression.
The custom luxurious finishes and hand selected high end materials used throughout the Numarine 105 HT offer an absolutely “first class” experience, while the impressive exterior areas provide plenty of gracious and refined alfresco space for entertaining guests.
105 HT is drawn by Numarine’s designer Can Yalman, in charge of the concept, lines and interiors, while Umberto Tagliavini is the naval architect.
Key design attributes deliver the functionality, comfort and speed synonymous with the Numarine “mantra”, coupled with striking aesthetics and exceptional use of space for a motor-yacht that can do it all and in style.

The design consideration extends from the cleverly appointed flybridge – a feature that brings the “best of both worlds” to this extravagant hardtop model – to the abundance of outside lounging areas, the immense interior lounge and dining space, the lavish galley and cabin accommodation: all are bathed in natural light, further enhancing the plentiful feeling of space.
Accommodation is comprised of three fully en-suite guest cabins and the spacious full beam master cabin, lavishly appointed with a dressing table, sofa, a large bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower and twin basins.
Can Yalman says: “Numarine 105HT is the foremost expression of the styling language that has started with the 78HT. The Hard Top design language has the gill shaped glass elements in the superstructure. Previously we have used this in the ceiling panels but in the 105HT this has been taken to the extreme and  the complete side glass has this gilled, scaled structure emphasizing the creature aesthetic and power within. Taking stylistic language of the transportation industry, mainly the supercars, we tried to emulate the power, speed and luxury feel of an ultimate movement machine to a super-yacht.  The elegance of motion is what we tried to achieve in the design of the Numarine 105HT”.
Designed to navigate in any sea state and powered with twin 1,925 hp Caterpillar C32s, the 105HT is capable of a top speed 30 knots and cruises at around 26 knots. Numarine uses advanced composite construction, vacuum assisted infusion techniques, PVC foam, and EL vinylester resin for sturdy and lightweight  hulls.

Umberto Tagliavini adds:”I have collaborated with the Numarine yard since their beginning and their first yacht. And just as with all Numarine designs, the primary aim when we designed the new  105 HT was to create a high performance hull shape with maximum possible comfort, even when sea conditions are not ideal. Thanks to Numarine’s technology – a given for the yard – we managed to achieve a displacement that gives us high speeds with a relatively smaller propulsion system: the two 1400kW CAT engines give the 105 HT a top speed of over 31 knots.
The chined hull forward has a pronounced V, letting the bow pierce the waves relatively easily, giving the yacht a very comfortable ride. Numarine’s experience made my work easier, resulting in a high performance hull. CFD simulations were of great help in finalizing the design, but the original lines were developed based on the yard’s experience with their previous yachts. To improve the hull, obviously with the help of the yard, I have always taken out the yachts for trails in rough conditions to better understand how to improve handling in difficult conditions

The Numarine 105 HT joins a class of performance motor-yachts that sets the industry trends of today and will become an industry reference model for the future.
Antonio Caviglia, Numarine Sales & Marketing Director refers: “This double achievement – in less than one year  – with the delivery of two 105HTs confirms our ability to thoroughly engineer a new project and deliver it on-time and built to the demanding Numarine standard. The new 105HT highlights the following key values: The Numarine design philosophy penned by Can Yalman and its continuous evolution; the light-weight yet strong foam core vacuum infusion construction technology that allows this 33m yacht to reach 31knots of top speed with just twin CAT C32 Acerts with 1925hp each and permits us to provide an industry-leading 10-year Structural Warranty; the the traditional Numarine seaworthiness derived from the great hulls penned by Umberto Tagliavini; the Numarine continuous pursuit of greater on board comfort with noise, vibration and harshness reduction solutions developed together with Silent Line that make this yacht one of the quietest and most-vibration free in its category. Price wise, Numarine continues to provide a great value with the new 105HT, that at a very interesting Euro 6,9 million base price presents a turn-key product with all the needed equipment already standard and a very short extras list, resulting in a very attractive price advantage when compared to the competition.  And this of course includes the customization of the interiors to suit the tastes of the Client, who can make all of his or her interior choices and layout customizations together with our Internal Architect or with the input of his personal Architect working together with our Team”.

Finally, the flybridge offers 60 square meters of entertainment space customized to include in the first unit 3 couches, a 12 persons dining table, two large sunpad areas a fully-fitted bar, 3 navigation seats and a central secondary helm station.

Regarding performance, the new Numarine 32XP, exploiting the yard’s engineering capabilities together with its long-standing partner naval architect Umberto Tagliavini, has a very efficient displacement hull that will give the Numarine 32XP a top speed of 14 knots, a cruise speed of 12knots, and a confidence inspiring 3,000 Nm range at an economical speed of 9 knots.

In designing the 32XP, Numarine paid considerable attention, with the assistance of its longstanding partner Silent Line, to elimination and reduction of all noise and vibration sources, with the goal of surpassing RINA “Comfort Class” Certification and achieving comfort levels of 50 meters in a 32 meters superyacht.
