For those in searchof a summer jam-packed with exciting new experiences in beautiful surroundings, the Regent and Porto Montenegro have it covered. Car fanatics, music lovers and wine connoisseurs alike can join together for an events extravaganza as well as a spot of out-of-the-ordinary and free-spirited sporting at Porto Montenegro’s inaugural polo tournament, Polo in the Port.
SPORT Pagani, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porche, Aston Martin, Jaguar, AMG Mercedes, Rolls Royce –just some of the awe-inspiring cars appearing at this year’s Gumball 3000 which will take place on 10th June. In a spectacle like no other, some of the world’s largest supercar brands will park up in the marina village to enjoy a series of spectacular entertainment.
One of the most glamorous sporting events of the season, Polo in the Port, will take place between 2nd –4th August, bringing together polo ponies, mallets and a group of affluent teammates for the village’s inaugural polo sporting event. Spectators and visitors are welcome to enjoy the show from the side-lines of the spacious new Arena.
MUSIC The most celebrated names on the American jazz music scene come together for the Made in New York Jazz Festival in Porto Montenegro on 14th June. Guests can sit back and enjoy the jazz and soulrepertoire, with classic and novel compositions and the ever-anticipated instrumental and vocal jazz acrobatics. An event not to be missed!
FOOD & WINE SuperWine 7.0makes it comeback for a seventh year in a row on 29th June, combining the best European wineries for a night of wine tasting by the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club Pool.
To celebrate the summer season, the Regent will also be hosting a series of events and dinners for hotel guests, including a dinner with Michelin star chef Juan Amadorat the end of August, the unmissable Captain’s Dinner, Candlelit Dinnerand Full Moon Gala Dinner in the hotel’s Italian Garden, and lastly, the Truffle Dinner, to conclude the season.
FASHION Following the success of last year’s debut, the International Fashion Festival returns to Porto Montenegro from 19th –20th July, to host some of the world’s most renowned designers. Last year, visitors saw creations from Sheika Hend Faisal Al Qassemi, LaQuan Smith, Antonio Grimaldi and Renato Balestra, with this year’s names to be announced exclusively ahead of the show.
Porto Montenegro is at the epicentre of this year’s summer coastal events, with an event for everyone to enjoy. Existing residents and new visitors alike can also enjoy the Porto Montenegro Yacht Club Beach bar, pool and open-air cinema, Naval Heritage Collection and adjacent Submarine museum.
EXHIBITIONS The Naval Heritage Collection museum will be hosting several exhibitions. Matthijs Scholten, Ljubo Popadić, Boris Dragojevićare the contemporary artists that are going to show their best work at the NHC this summer. Follow the calendar
REGATTAS The RC44 regatta in April 2019 confirmed the premium status of Porto Montenegro as the new European sailing center with great infrastructure and wind conditions. Two classic events will come back in summer. It is the Arsenal Cup, the largest regatta of the year, where the fleet goes through the Verige Channel and around Our Lady of the RocksIslandbeforefinishing in themarina, and the 1000 Islands Race that is co-organised by the Sailing Club of Rijeka (SCOR) and Porto Montenegro Yacht Club (PMYC). This offshore regatta begins and ends in the Croatian city of Rijeka, with Tivat as the half-way point -acourse of around 300 miles.

Stella McCartney, installazioni pro animali nei suoi shop
Un’installazione al neon che rappresenta dei gatti. Nelle vetrine di 19 negozi Stella McCartney in Europa, Usa e Asia. Obiettivo della stilista inglese, da sempre sostenitrice dei diritti degli animali e del loro benessere, è supportare le associazioni PETA (People for the ethical treatment of the animals, la più grande associazione per la difesa dei diritti degli animali al mondo, con più di 5 milioni di membri e sostenitori) e Battersea Dog & Cats che si occupa di cani e gatti abbandonati.
Le istallazioni vogliono trasmettere un messaggio di incoraggiamento a sostegno delle associazioni e resteranno nei negozi fino all’inizio di settembre per essere poi regalate alle due organizzazioni per essere poi utilizzate in altre occasioni.
In pratica gli stores inviteranno i clienti a sostenere PETA e Battersea Dog&Cat con donazioni libere. Un’iniziativa in linea con il pensiero della stilista. Vegetariana da tutta la vita, Stella McCartney non usa pelli e pellicce nella produzione dei suoi capi e accessori.
I fondi raccolti per Battersea Dogs & Cats Home da parte dei due stores Stella McCartney di Londra andranno a sostegno dei cani e dei gatti dei loro tre centri dislocati nel paese, mentre il denaro raccolto per PETA da tutti gli stores Stella McCartney nel mondo serviranno a coprire le spese per le campagne per la sterilizzazione e la castrazione dei gatti.
A supporto dell’iniziativa verrà lanciata anche una campagna sui social media con un divertente hashtag ispirato al tema dei gatti #StellaMcCatney.

Il designer di calzature di lusso ha fatto squadra con l’e-concept store francese SportyHenri.com per creare gli abiti ufficiali per la squadra nazionale cubana ai Giochi Olimpici del 2016 a Rio. Le eleganti divise saranno indossate dalla delegazione di oltre 100 atleti in tutte le occasioni formali, tra cui la cerimonia di chiusura delle Olimpiadi. Una high-top trainer e un mocassino chiamati Naza Star per gli atleti, sandalo con tacco per le atlete chiamato il Naza Sandal.
Le loro giacche nettamente su misura, sono in rosso per gli uomini e beige per le donne e presentano la bandiera della nazione sul taschino e sono in contrasto con i pantaloni intercambiabili con pantaloncini e gonne. La stella a cinque punte è utilizzata come emblema portafortuna e la troviamo anche sulla parte posteriore della giacca di ogni atleta. Le divise sono state creato pensando alle prestazioni di questi atleti che si trasformano in supereroi che sfidano la gravità, che sfidano il tempo, che sfidano tutte le regole della fisica.
