CHRISTIAN GRANDE APPOINTED OFFICIAL YACHT DESIGNER FOR THE SUNDIRO-SANLORENZO JOINT VENTURE

The prestigious Sanlorenzo brand and the Chinese colossal Sundiro Holding created Sundiro Yacht early in 2014, and entrusted design development for the entire gamma to the Cristian Grande Design Studio.

The Parma based Cristian Grande Studio has already created several ambients in collaboration with the Italian Sanlorenzo yard.

The first model of the Sundiro line, the SY70, was officially presented May 1st at the Hong Kong boat show. Built entirely in Italy, the SY70 was created specifically for the Chinese market. With several different possibilities in layout and décor, this yacht is ready to meet the tastes of more traditional clients in addition to those who prefer typical western styling.

Cristian Grande is already active as a leading designer in the Far East, collaborating with several firms, most recently with DFC-Wuxi Dong High Speed Craft in the production of patrol craft and commercial vessels.

SY 70 – PRIMARY FEATURES

The Sundiro SY 70 was designed by Cristian Grande, with special attention paid to overall harmony and the smallest of details. Her interior layout is designed for the Asian market, with the emphasis on friendly entertainment. The full beam entertainment room is central to this philosophy, along with a spacious galley and the belowdecks dining area. Both the main deck and flybridge, equipped with steering controls, have the same emphasis on relaxing entertainment, with guests or with friends. The main deck offers a vast dining area with a table that can host eight guests, along with a hidden TV screen and a large room to relax in, with sofas on both sides. The flybridge repeats the same scheme and offers two very useful transformable areas with sofas.

EXTERIORS

Exterior design is very straightforward, characterized by several elements that remind the observer of the close ties to Sanlorenzo while clearly declaring their own character and identity. Straightforward aesthetics and full length windows continue throughout the superstructure, giving the living area ample visibility of the sea. This is in contrast to the more discrete openings belowdecks that increase privacy for the areas dedicated to rest and intimate moments.

INTERIORS AND DÉCOR

The interiors are characterized by elegant and straightforward modern styling.

This choice was made directly by Cristian Grande who desired clean shapes with minimalist lines, highlighted by the use of sophisticated materials. The main theme of the furnishing’s décor has a very light color, with open-pore grey wood and overheads in lacquered white that give rhythm to the effect. It is all highlighted by alternating illumination between contrasting darker elements, such as some of the cabin walls and trim painted in lacquered bronze with special metallic overtones, or other metallic elements treated with nickel, giving them a special dark sheen. The resulting ambient is very refined thanks to a delicate distribution of illumination, and valorized by the masterly use of light tones. This preference for sober elegance and formal sharpness is coupled with several series of accessories and furnishings, custom designed by Cristian Grande. There are tables and lamps characterized by different chromatic variations in the “Madagascar Orange” or “Emerald Green” series.

Once again Cristian Grande has successfully completed his brief, designing a balanced yacht, elegant and at the same time flexible and customizable, while maintaining the unmistakable touch of Italian styling that made Cristian famous.

COMING SOON

The Design studio from Parma is presently designing the three cabin version of the SY70, while the second model of the range is undergoing preliminary studies.

Further details will be released to the press in the course of this year.

Who is Christian Grande

Christian Grande is one of the youngest Italian designers to become part of the palmares of yacht designers. He has designed innovative vessels since 1992, courageously designing the yachts that will later become corner stones in nautical design. Presently Cristian has completed over 100 yacht designs and been presented with more than 15 international awards. He has also worked for Sacs and Sanlorenzo.

Benetti Vivace 125’, world debut at Cannes Yachting Festival 2015

Benetti Vivace 125′ – second model of the Fast Displacement series – will make its debut at the next Cannes Yachting Festival (8-13 September).

Vivace 125′  joins the flagship Class Fast Displacement line, Veloce 140’, and takes inspiration from its forerunners construction technology, stylistic features, and spatial layout.
Benetti Class Vivace 125’ is a composite and carbon construction yacht built at the Viareggio boatyard; it is a 38.10 metre by 8.30 metres semi-wide body  with three decks plus sun deck. Much like its bigger sister, Stefano Righini has designed the F-125′ with a sporty exterior employing generous amounts of horizontal windows to accentuate the sleek lines; its hallmark is a large central design element at the sides enclosing the upper deck stair.

The interior layout is articulated in 4 suites for 8 guests and the owner’s apartments forward on the main deck, at full beam. The captain plus a crew of 7 is available to see to all the guest’s needs.
Thanks to an exclusive agreement, Vivace 125′ is equipped with an innovative series of azipod transmissions expressly designed by Rolls-Royce for Benetticarbon Azipull 65C pods.
The D2P_Displacement Planing® hull equipped with wave piercer was perfected by Benetti technicians for the Rolls-Royce propulsion pod by optimising all the stern tunnel thrusters and those elements impacting hydrodynamic coefficients. The result is an even greater improvement of the already enhanced propulsion efficiency of the pod drives.
The D2P® hull with wave piercer enables the new Fast Displacement series to reach higher speeds without engine strain, or to cruise in displacement mode at an economical speed with a much greater range.
Full details of the yacht will be released during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2015.

BENETTI SHOWS OFF AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW
FROM  SEPTEMBER 23rd TO THE 26th, 2015
One European and two worldwide debuts for the Tuscan yard
– FB265 M/Y 11/11 twin owner’s cabin with a plumb bow that cuts through the sea – her world debut
– FB255 M/Y Formosa, five decks in 60 meters of aluminum and steel – her world debut
– BF 203 M/Y H, third unit of the Veloce 140’ Fast Displacement series  – her European debut

FB265 MY 11/11 The 63 meter mega yacht has a special design and aesthetic factor that you notice immediately: her plumb bow, which allows for an increased dynamic tendency, literally cutting through the water.
The  FB265 MY 11/11’s interiors are just as original. Her designated layout favors two spacious and comfortable owner’s cabins, one on the full beam main deck, the second on the upper deck with private access to the pool and solarium deck. The four guest cabins are on the lower deck, each with its own en-suite washroom.
Performance, with two CAT 3512C engines developing 1350kW each, gave her a top speed of 17 knots during her first preliminary sea trails.
Scenic effects and nighttime illumination are assured while at anchor with 46 lights placed below the waterline of the superyacht.

FB255 M/Y Formosa The steel and aluminum hull of the Formosa FB255 superyacht – whose exterior styling and naval architecture were done entirely by Benetti – has five decks, with 60 meters of length overall, a beam of 10.6 meters and a displacement of 1,060 GT.
The guest area’s layout and design were created by Sinot Design, in close collaboration with the owner. Five suites for ten guests are foreseen, with a complete deck given over to the owner’s apartment. 14 crew members will assist the captain and look after the owner and guests.
The Formosa FB255, propelled by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines that develop 1,380kW at 1.800rpm has a top speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. While economy cruising at 12 knots the FB255 has a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

BF 203 M/Y H is the third yacht of the Fast Displacement Veloce 140’ series and is characterized by a new hull design that makes the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull even more efficient. The Wave Piercer is a bulb mounted on the bow that comes into play when the yacht reaches 17 or 18 knots. The Wave Piercer travels just below the surface at slow speed, but once the vessel reaches the proper speed the Wave Piercer emerges and increases the effective waterline length, giving the yacht better performance and efficiency. Fuel efficiency increases by about 10% at a given speed, while with the same power there is an increase of about 10%, therefore allowing higher speeds.
The BF 203 M/Y H is equipped with twin five blade propellers and twin power plants developing 2,580kW each, with a straight propeller shaft configuration.

The BF 203 M/Y’s internal layout offers four guest cabins – two with twin beds and two queen size – on the lower deck, while the owner’s apartment is forward on the main deck. On the same deck we have the main salon with bar zone and bridge, all with lateral panoramic windows for a perfect view. The dining area, with a large expandable table, is on the upper deck together with a second salon. There are two sunbathing areas: forward of the upper deck with Jacuzzi and for the complete length of the sun deck with a corner bar.

SYRMontenegroThursdayMS-9084-w900-h900

Porto Montenegro the Adriatic’s leading superyacht marina, makes way for an infusion of culture this summer with a diverse series of exclusive events to entertain residents and visitors alike. With concerts and art exhibitions, a new nightclub, foodie fairs and wine exhibitions, it’s guaranteed that there is something for everyone. Not to mention two world-class Superyacht events: The SuperYacht Rendezvous Montenegro and MYBA Pop-up SuperYacht Show.

FOR THE YACHTING ENTHUSIAST
The SuperYacht Rendezvous has been making its debut in Montenegro this year from 2nd to 5th of July. This event welcomes both sailing and motor-powered superyachts from 30m upwards. Building on the past successes of the Monaco Rendezvous, in 2015 superyacht owners will enjoy a spectacular social programme in and around the Bay of Kotor.
For the SYR Montenegro first edition report, please read the official press release here.
MYBA Pop-up SuperYacht Show Porto Montenegro will be hosted in collaboration with MYBA, the Worldwide Yachting Association from 4th to 6th of September 2015. This short ‘pop-up’ event is aimed at the world’s leading professional charter brokers looking to appraise the yachts on display and network with captains and crew in readiness for the forthcoming season.
FOR THE WINE CONNOISSEUR
Bringing together exhibitors from some of the finest wineries in Europe, the SuperWine 3.0 Festival promises to introduce more than 20 celebrated wines from around the world to Montenegro’s oenophile community. This event will take place on the 10th & 11th of July within the PM Yacht club.
FOR “THE PLACE MUST-TO-SEE”
With an impressive overwater infinity pool, Porto Montenegro’s new members-only Yacht pool club with the infinity pool Lido Mar, caters exclusively to Porto Montenegro homeowners, visiting VIPs, marina guests and hotel residents. Newly redesigned by Tino Zervudachi of MHZ in Paris, the Yacht club now features classic poolside dining alongside a menu of cocktails and a selection of 30 wines while Lido Pranzo, an informal daytime restaurant, is located at the foot of the Lido Mar pool. De Gustibus is a dining option open every evening that offers sunset views over the pool, and an exclusive Platinum club provides an intimate, luxurious nightclub experience, all within the same building.
FOR FASHIONISTAS
This year Porto Montenegro’s village features boutique environments carrying Ready to Wear, Resort and Accessories collections from Dolce and Gabbana, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Fendi, Balenciaga, Moncler, Philip Plein, Misahara, Genny, Heidi Klein, Celine, Givenchy, Chloe, Isabel Marant, Saint Laurent, Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, Thom Browne, Valentino, Dita, Shourouk, Cutler&Gross and Victoria Beckham including exquisite lingerie by La Perla.
FOR THE ART ADMIRER
Leading contemporary art gallery Mead Carney of Dover Street in Mayfair, London, is popping up in Porto Montenegro’s village once more this summer with their signature blend of conversation-starter artworks. Open from late June until mid-September the show brings together two of the gallery’s most recent exhibitions. ‘Wonderland’ is a project created over the course of five years by award winning fine art photographer Kirsty Mitchell as an homage to her late mother.  Having previously worked in fashion for the likes of Alexander McQueen, Kirsty understood the constructed and filmic nature of photography so she set about re-creating her favourite scenes from the fairy tales her mother used to read to her as a child. Agua Nacida, ‘Water Born’ in Spanish, presents a truly unique collection of hauntingly beautiful large-scale nudes, shot underwater in Fiji and Gozo by the internationally acclaimed photographer Hugh Arnold.
‘Magnificent Nature’ is a collection of paintings and sculptures created by the artist Milena ZeVu, which will be exhibited in the Naval Heritage Museum in Porto Montenegro from July 9th. The collection contains works that are created in a special technique – an acrylic or cement base with thousands of manually inserted Swarovski Crystals, which Milena has been developing for years. The theme of the collection is Nature and Sea World, especially tropical fish which are unique, colourful and portrayed in a 3D manner as a combination of sculpture and painting. Two works from this collection were exhibited and auctioned in Monte Carlo at an event organized by the Foundation of Princess Stephanie of Monaco.
Furthermore, from 1st to 18th of August, Cattaro Home Gallery will present the Art of David Hamilton, a photographer and part-time film director who has published numerous photographic books, created five feature films and been the focus of countless museum and gallery exhibitions during a successful career spanning several decades. The theme of his summer exhibition will be ‘Venice’ and he will be showing some of his finest landscapes and portraits.
FOR THE PLACE TO STAY
A spectacular waterfront property comprising 35 hotel rooms and 51 residences, Porto Montenegro has welcomed the much-anticipated Regent Porto Montenegro Hotel & Residences to its ever-evolving marina community. Celebrating a very successful first year, the hotel has set new standards for luxury hotel design in the Adriatic, representing a ground-breaking new addition to the region’s hospitality market. The hotel’s five star services include a fine dining restaurant, cigar lounge, library bar, signature spa and fitness centre, as well as both an indoor and outdoor pool.

The fortuitous result of the encounter in Via Santo Spirito between Giorgio Dantone, Meo Fusciuni and Pierfrancesco Cravel. Three modern dreamers, an experimental entrepreneur, a scent creator and an architect, together for over a year seeking the elusive essence of things: Milan, the old family tailor’s shop, its smells, memories and the assiduous search of contemporary cuts abstracted in a perfume, intangible form of the aesthetics and history of Dantone.D,

The olfactory pyramid: Rhum – Angelica – Black pepper – Cedarwood – Elemi – Patchouli – Harmony dust – Incense – Labdanum – Ambra – Leather
