FB801 M/Y VICA, first Benetti vessel with two different techniques

March 3, 2016 Leave a comment

BENETTI FB801 M/Y VICA: FIBERGLASS WEDS ALUMINUM FOR COMPLETE COMFORT AND FLEXIBILITY

–  Two technologies, with the hull in fiberglass and the superstructure in aluminum

–  Ample open spaces to enjoy life on the water

–  Three lateral balconies open on the sea

–  Comfortable sailing with minimized vibrations

FB801 M/Y VICA – 50 meters long – is the first Benetti vessel built using two different techniques: the hull is in fiberglass, while the superstructure is in aluminum. With a concept of flexible moulding the superyacht meets the client’s different customizing needs. A yacht for the Mediterranean, with ample open air spaces – a spacious open deck astern, and forward with the upper deck and an enormous sun deck.

Exterior lines are characterized by fashionable full height windows that not only fill the interiors with natural light but also streamline her profile. A unique feature of the VICA are the three hatches in the hull. The first is laterally placed towards the stern for launching and recovering the tender; the second serves as a bathing platform; the third opens into the lower deck lobby giving air and light to an otherwise closed area.

Another unique feature for vessels of this size is an automatic gangway down to sea level, exclusively for the owners use FB801 M/Y VICA – designed to fall under 500 gross tons – is a state of the art Benetti yacht, with the latest in on-board comfort and extensive and pleasurable outdoor areas: a complete Mediterranean yacht.

VICA has four decks linked by a central staircase that opens onto elegant lobbies that in turn provide access to the rest of the living areas. In addition to the four decks we have the under lower deck with the engine room, service areas, holds, and laundry.

Her internal layout is classic, with four guest cabins on the lower deck, the owner’s suite forward on the main deck, and an additional cabin on the upper deck.

The large main salon greets guests on the main deck, and is visually separated from a more intimate zone with a grand piano, karaoke, an American style corner bar and sofa, and from another more intimate area with lounge chairs, coffee tables and extra wide plasma TV screen. Moving forward, we first enter the foyer with staircases leading to the other decks, leading in turn to the ample professional galley to port and the owner’s apartment to starboard. The suite features a large study and a full beam cabin with an exclusive private terrace complete with a gangway leading down to the sea. The suite features his and her bathrooms, complete with shower and bathtub, and separated by a walk-in closet.

The four guest suites are on the lower deck, the after two with queen size beds and the forward two with twin beds, and are separated by the lobby. Here we also have an exterior terrace that expands when opening the hatch, giving light and air to the interiors. Completely separated from the guest area are the six cabins for the twelve members of the crew.

The dining room features a large oval table for twelve guests in the upper deck salon. On the same deck we find another guest cabin and forward, the captain’s cabin, next to the bridge. The showpieces of the upper deck are the open air spaces: while the stern deck is quite spacious, the foredeck is exceptionally spacious, with an enormous divan and two chaise lounge next to the Jacuzzi, allowing guests to pass the whole day at sea in total privacy, both on this deck and on the sunbathing deck.

The sun deck, dedicated exclusively to life in the open air, features a second Jacuzzi surrounded by a large sunbathing area, a luncheon table and a bar with barstools where you can enjoy a drink at any time of the day or night. Forward of this area, the other leisure area can be transformed into a touch and go helicopter pad. VICA’s owner didn’t opt for this feature, but the ship’s structures are ready to host the weight of a small helicopter to ferry guests aboard.

The interiors are all designed by Benetti, under the guiding hand of the architect Mariarosa Remedi and in collaboration with the owner’s personal interior designer.

Atmosphere and décor follow the home feeling style and are the primary inspiration for all the ambients with the exception of the foyer, where we have the notable stairway in wrought iron and the sundeck skylight that inundates the lower deck with natural light.

The interiors are warm and classic, with a predominant use of cherrywood, both smooth and satin finished (for the cabins), with detailing in rosewood. Lighting is very suggestive, completely supplied by LED, and the interior illuminated alabaster columns have dynamic light temperature controls via iPad.

Technically, the Benetti FB801 M/Y VICA maintains her classic configuration, with a fiberglass displacement hull propelled by two CAT C32 Acert developing 970 kW each, guaranteeing adequate performance for her 498 gross tons. Thanks to this configuration VICA has a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots, but can  easily reach her top speed of 15.5 knots or cruise at 14 knots with her engines working at 85% of their maximum load.

The M/Y VICA guarantees a comfortable hull ride, practically without vibrations and noise which have been reduced thanks to a special elastic link between the engines and propellor shafts.

The Naiad stabilization system is also perfect for the typical mooring habits of the owner, usually at anchor and rarely in port.

dd465d12-1b4c-4189-88a9-cb722efd8901

Benetti Vivace 125′ – second model of the Fast Displacement series – will make its debut at the next Cannes Yachting Festival (8-13 September).

Vivace 125′  joins the flagship Class Fast Displacement line, Veloce 140’, and takes inspiration from its forerunners construction technology, stylistic features, and spatial layout.
Benetti Class Vivace 125’ is a composite and carbon construction yacht built at the Viareggio boatyard; it is a 38.10 metre by 8.30 metres semi-wide body  with three decks plus sun deck. Much like its bigger sister, Stefano Righini has designed the F-125′ with a sporty exterior employing generous amounts of horizontal windows to accentuate the sleek lines; its hallmark is a large central design element at the sides enclosing the upper deck stair.

The interior layout is articulated in 4 suites for 8 guests and the owner’s apartments forward on the main deck, at full beam. The captain plus a crew of 7 is available to see to all the guest’s needs.
Thanks to an exclusive agreement, Vivace 125′ is equipped with an innovative series of azipod transmissions expressly designed by Rolls-Royce for Benetticarbon Azipull 65C pods.
The D2P_Displacement Planing® hull equipped with wave piercer was perfected by Benetti technicians for the Rolls-Royce propulsion pod by optimising all the stern tunnel thrusters and those elements impacting hydrodynamic coefficients. The result is an even greater improvement of the already enhanced propulsion efficiency of the pod drives.
The D2P® hull with wave piercer enables the new Fast Displacement series to reach higher speeds without engine strain, or to cruise in displacement mode at an economical speed with a much greater range.
Full details of the yacht will be released during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2015.

BENETTI SHOWS OFF AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW
FROM  SEPTEMBER 23rd TO THE 26th, 2015
One European and two worldwide debuts for the Tuscan yard
– FB265 M/Y 11/11 twin owner’s cabin with a plumb bow that cuts through the sea – her world debut
– FB255 M/Y Formosa, five decks in 60 meters of aluminum and steel – her world debut
– BF 203 M/Y H, third unit of the Veloce 140’ Fast Displacement series  – her European debut

FB265 MY 11/11 The 63 meter mega yacht has a special design and aesthetic factor that you notice immediately: her plumb bow, which allows for an increased dynamic tendency, literally cutting through the water.
The  FB265 MY 11/11’s interiors are just as original. Her designated layout favors two spacious and comfortable owner’s cabins, one on the full beam main deck, the second on the upper deck with private access to the pool and solarium deck. The four guest cabins are on the lower deck, each with its own en-suite washroom.
Performance, with two CAT 3512C engines developing 1350kW each, gave her a top speed of 17 knots during her first preliminary sea trails.
Scenic effects and nighttime illumination are assured while at anchor with 46 lights placed below the waterline of the superyacht.

FB255 M/Y Formosa The steel and aluminum hull of the Formosa FB255 superyacht – whose exterior styling and naval architecture were done entirely by Benetti – has five decks, with 60 meters of length overall, a beam of 10.6 meters and a displacement of 1,060 GT.
The guest area’s layout and design were created by Sinot Design, in close collaboration with the owner. Five suites for ten guests are foreseen, with a complete deck given over to the owner’s apartment. 14 crew members will assist the captain and look after the owner and guests.
The Formosa FB255, propelled by twin MTU 12V4000 M53 engines that develop 1,380kW at 1.800rpm has a top speed of 16 knots, with a cruising speed of 15 knots. While economy cruising at 12 knots the FB255 has a range of 5,000 nautical miles.

BF 203 M/Y H is the third yacht of the Fast Displacement Veloce 140’ series and is characterized by a new hull design that makes the D2P (Displacement to Planing) hull even more efficient. The Wave Piercer is a bulb mounted on the bow that comes into play when the yacht reaches 17 or 18 knots. The Wave Piercer travels just below the surface at slow speed, but once the vessel reaches the proper speed the Wave Piercer emerges and increases the effective waterline length, giving the yacht better performance and efficiency. Fuel efficiency increases by about 10% at a given speed, while with the same power there is an increase of about 10%, therefore allowing higher speeds.
The BF 203 M/Y H is equipped with twin five blade propellers and twin power plants developing 2,580kW each, with a straight propeller shaft configuration.

The BF 203 M/Y’s internal layout offers four guest cabins – two with twin beds and two queen size – on the lower deck, while the owner’s apartment is forward on the main deck. On the same deck we have the main salon with bar zone and bridge, all with lateral panoramic windows for a perfect view. The dining area, with a large expandable table, is on the upper deck together with a second salon. There are two sunbathing areas: forward of the upper deck with Jacuzzi and for the complete length of the sun deck with a corner bar.

BENETTI “LADY CANDY”: 56 METRES OF STYLE, CLASS, AND SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE
In a perfect marriage between East and West, Lady Candy offers the ultimate in comfort, beauty, and technology, for a totally relaxing cruising experience.
The style of Italian yacht design masters, the Benetti boatyard’s technological prowess, and the Owner’s magic touch of the East combine to create a 56-metre yacht whose class is matched only by its outstanding performance: Lady Candy, the latest jewel of the Benetti family.
The Benetti boatyard in Livorno launched the M/Y Lady Candy (Unit No. FB260) late last May 2013. 100% steel and aluminium, the 56-metre vessel is built on a time-tested naval architecture platform with proven dependability in previous yachts. For Lady Candy, this platform was partially modified with the repositioning of the wheelhouse on the sun deck and the associated widening of the beam.
“Lady Candy”  combines interior spaces worthy of a 56-metre vessel with outstandingperformance, including a maximum speed of nearly 17 knots, comfort which translates into stability, and almost zero associated vibrations and noise.
With naval design from Benetti together with styling from Captain Paul Brackley’s Central Yacht Design Studio, the exterior lines of “Lady Candy ” have a clearly contemporary feel without diminishing the timeless elegance Benetti yachts are known for. The 962-tonne vessel is majestic yet streamlined, with the five decks highlighted by a harmonious movement stemming from the contrast of the long bands of tinted windows at the upper decks against the white hull. The expert Owner is from Asia and is a great enthusiast of the sea and diving.
He plans to enjoy Lady Candy together with his family and friends. The Owner played an active role in the design of his yacht; he had a particularly strong impact on the interior layout which was custom-designed for him by Central Yacht. For example, the Owner explicitly requested that the interiors be given priority over the exteriors, creating an enormous and exciting main saloon that covers 88 m2  of the main deck; he also had his and his daughter’s cabins moved to the upper deck to maximise privacy. The Owner was also directly involved in the interior styling and furnishing, which was designed by Central Yacht and the USA interior architecture firm BAMO (the latter having just furnished some of the Owner’s other properties). The interiors are simple and welcoming. Briar root wood predominates and is combined with soft colours like lilac and jade, reflecting an “international” aesthetic that unites the East and West.
The architects and designers worked with the Owner to develop a design object which is beyond the merely “fashionable”, paying close attention to every detail. This quality is also found in the creation of “custom” spaces to meet the Owner’s special specifications.
For example, since the Owner is a diving and underwater enthusiast, the opportunity could not be passed up to locate a fully equipped beach club, complete with bar, gymnasium, steam shower, bathroom and living area right next to the swimming platform, including separate entrances for guests and crew.
Lady Candy has four decks connected by a central lift that opens onto an elegant lobby leading to various spaces. To this deck is added an additional lower deck for the engine room, mechanical rooms, and various stowage areas critical to ensuring efficiency and autonomy, the laundry room, and other service areas).
The four guest cabins are found on the lower deck. There are two twin-sized cabins with twin beds and two with queen beds; all with desk-vanity, large closets, and spacious bathrooms.
Towards the bow, with separate access, there are five cabins and common areas for the 12-person crew. Abaft, is the large engine room and still further astern is the beach club adjacent to the exterior swimming platform with a view directly out over the water: the perfect place for the Owner’s diving activities.
The main deck welcomes guests with an enormous saloon, bar, and lobby area with ample sofas for relaxing and a large dining room with circular table that seats 14, as well as a powder room. Further to the bow, on the port side, there is a professional kitchen and to starboard, a media room with a 70″ screen and Dolby surround sound speakers. Even further to the bow is the garage for the 7.3 metre Tendershipyard TS 73 tender. Regardless of the weather conditions, the launch can be easily manoeuvred from above by opening the side door and operating a simple launching-hauling system. The garage also accommodates two jet skis, assorted water toys and a cavernous chilled garbage locker for extended cruising. Astern of the saloon, there is the large cockpit with an enormous sofa and armchairs.
The upper deck of “Lady Candy ” is devoted to the Owner and his daughter (who the boat is named after) as well as other prestigious guests. This is where the boat Owner and VIP suites are located. The VIP suite is to the bow and enjoys a marvellous water view thanks to the 180° circular window; the suite includes a dressing room, vanity, sofa, bathroom with double sinks, shower, and a bathtub. The Owner’s apartment is astern and includes a panoramic saloon  private office, lounge area, and large bathroom with two toilets separated by a shower.
Forward of the cabin is the private VIP terrace. VIP guests need not to be disturbed by crew at any time as they have a secret access to the foredeck through the tender garage below.
The Owner also enjoys a private terrace with direct access via panoramic glazing from the actual bedroom area. This deck also includes a massage room, a typical feature found in the Asian culture.
In addition to hosting the wheelhouse, the sun deck also functions as a large open air terrace with sofas, a Jacuzzi, covered cooking area with extractor and a large dining table. There is a hideaway minibar complete with stools custom-designed by the boatyard per the Owner’s specific request.
In terms of performance, “Lady Candy ” enables sustained speeds and optimal cruising comfort.
Maximum speed is approximately 17 knots, while cruising speed is 16 knots. Fuel-economy speed is 12 knots, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles. The engine room has two 1.320 kW MTU 12V 4000 engines and two 175 kW Cat C9 Genset generators.
It is an extremely refined vessel, the perfect on-the-water home, one which is proportionally sized and where spaces are used to their fullest, making it possible to navigate in small bays and overnight in ports free of crowds. Lady Candy embodies the world class quality that the Benetti boatyard is known for around the world.
Captain Paul Brackley, Head of Central Yacht, is very satisfied; he worked with the boatyard to come up with the concept, exterior style, and interior plan: “This is our third project with Benetti. The first one was back in 2005: the 65-metre Ambrosia, an award winning and  technologically advanced vessel with a hybrid diesel-electric drive; it was the first yacht in the world with ABB compact Azipod propulsion system. This was followed by the 60-metre Xanadu with which we won Robb Report “Best of the Best” charter yacht in 2009. Ambrosia was the first design where Central Yacht acted as the Owner’s representative. Lady Candy is the first yacht to be developed directly by us, and it has proved to be a resounding success, receiving various nominations in design competitions, in addition to having numerous articles written about it. Central Yacht boasts a list of successful collaborations with Benetti. This has meant that the Owner can count on the synergetic collaboration between the two companies since we have always worked well together during all phases of the construction process. The result is an extraordinary yacht, and definitely one that represents an added value. We have developed a totally original profile and an interior design based on Benetti’s highly successful technical platform. This has given the client the security of having a unique yacht based on a proven design and with guaranteed performance, not to mention delivery ahed of schedule with no costly and surprising change orders. Benetti and Central Yacht have worked together to develop new design solutions in response to the most practical yacht management issues; the end result is delivering the Owner a boat which is very easy to handle and maintain. We choose to work with the Benetti boatyard not just for its absolute construction excellence, but also for its flexibility and availability which has allowed the Owner to be more involved (and experience greater satisfaction) during the different construction phases.”

Panthera, yacht di lusso per amanti del mare da Benetti Yachts

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Benetti Zaphira Delfino 93, spectacular images from Rio De Janeiro

Benetti in Brazil for the first time

– World debut at the Rio Boat Show 2014 with “Zaphira”, the fifth Delfino 93′

– Zaphira, the longest yacht at the show

– The first Benetti for a Brazilian Yachtowner

The Viareggio boatyard has chosen the Rio Boat Show (9-15 April 2014) for its big debut in Brazil. Representing the boatyard as a star among stars: the fifth model in the Delfino 93’  collection (with 10 vessels sold since the collections official unveiling at Cannes 2010), and the first for a Brazilian Owner.

The Benetti Delfino 93’ – Class Range – embodies Benetti’s strong track record of both tradition and innovation. In fact, the first motor-yacht by this name was introduced forty years ago at the 1969 Genoa International Boat Show.

The Zaphira (BD005) is the fifth in its series, and it is one which has seen enormous success: the ultimate synthesis of the Italian boatyard’s extensive experience and quality. The yacht’s sumptuous blue exterior and name plate (custom made by the Owner) are eye catching. The Owner is a real enthusiast of Italian style and “Made by Benetti” quality and has embraced these qualities down to the last detail.

The yacht selected by Benetti and its Owner to impress the boating public at the Rio de Janeiro Boat Show is actually the longest and most luxurious one at the event; it effectively (and in great style) conveys the message to Brazilian Yachtowners that the Benetti brand is now available in their country.

28.5 metres long and 7.03 metres at the beam, the Delfino ’93 is a synthesis of Benetti experience and style. “We have set a new standard of excellence in just 24 metres,” says Stefano Righini, responsible for the design concept and styling of this, as well as other, Class Range yachts.

The vessel’s bulb keel has two major advantages: first, increased safety in case of collision with partially submerged objects, and second, better hydrodynamic performance. The Delfino 93′ is the first displacement yacht to be outfitted with electric fin stabilisers to ensure superior seaworthiness (underway and at anchor) as well as the utmost in comfort.

Its high precision and construction quality translates into comfort because there is a significant reduction in noise and vibrations. The entire lower deck has floating floors which, thanks to the new sandwich materials, reduces noise transfer from the structure to the interior. This is a distinctive quality that has ensured the Delfino 93′ great commercial success from the outset.

The Delfino 93’ is also appealing because it is a large yacht “contained” within a small one: unique for its design, its technology, and spacious and comfortable interiors typically found only in much larger vessels. All this is possible thanks to its 7.03 metre beam, ensuring total below deck comfort. Zaphira comfortably sleeps twelve with its Owner cabin, two large VIP cabins, and two twin-bed guest cabins, as well as foldaway beds. The layout includes two longitudinal beds for increased comfort during overnight crossings.

The exterior lines by Stefano Righini have a strongly innovative feel; large, uninterrupted expanses of glass allow the Owner and guests to enjoy striking water views. Of particular note is the extensive fenestration at the Yacht Owner cabin, notwithstanding a side walkway.

Ample windows at the wheelhouse ensure functionality and comfort; the interior is like a large ferry with 180 degree visibility, one of the reasons the Delfino 93’ is such pleasure for its Owner to drive. Thanks to the Benetti construction techniques, even though the overall length is 28.5 metres, its construction length is measured at 23.98 metres. This means the yacht can be registered as a pleasure vessel, making it the ideal solution for an Owner-captain.

Carlo Galeazzi designed the interiors with balanced sophistication: the décor is contemporary with each element part of a harmonious whole, providing the perfect architectural backdrop in every space.

750 square metres of surface are clad in precious Italian leather hand-picked by the Owner.

Among the sophisticated selections: iridescent white leather for the sofas and tops and iridescent crocodile for the drawers in the saloon cabinetry, as well as elegant marbles.

Zaphira’s dark ebony panels on the interior combined with the natural bright teak on the deck create a natural and elegant contrast; the shade combinations and plays of light and dark generate an expansive sense of space, light, and relaxation. The baths are in marble: there are white statuaries for the Owner and guests and “spider” white marble with warm orange and red veining for the powder room.

On the deck, there are custom teak tables with a checkerboard motif; and in the dining room, a custom ebony and glass table with a storage space in the base.

Natural and artificial light is also a key design element. Indirect lighting is used together with large bands of windows in smoked glass that reinforce the sense of elegance and create a cosy atmosphere. The light fixtures are by Oluce and Estro.

The Delfino 93′ makes excellent use of space. There are large storage areas on the exterior and spacious and comfortable living spaces on the interior, including: bathrooms, large cabins for guests and crew, and comfortable, ergonomic, and distinct vertical circulation.

The mechanical spaces have been optimised to occupy a smaller footprint thanks to the BEST electric and electronic systems on board. Privacy and superior service are ensured by the perfect division of guest and crew areas.

On Zaphira, just as on all Delfino 93’, the many different and well organised outdoor areas (totalling 141 square metres) enable the guests to move about freely, from the sun pad to forward of the deckhouse, to the immense flybridge, all the way up to sundeck dining area where an electric awning provides shade. The 6-person Jacuzzi is a Benetti custom design especially for the Delfino 93’ line.

Once on board Zaphira, it is easy to forget it is only 93 feet. Everything feels large, functional, and balanced, making the Delfino 93’ not so much a compact yacht but rather a small Benetti megayacht.

The two MTU engines mean this super yacht reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 13 knots, and average range of 1,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

“Panthera”, the 47-metre sporty and elegant yacht by Benetti Yachts

BENETTI “PANTHERA”: 47 METRES OF ELEGANCE, SPEED, AND ULTIMATE COMFORT
Benetti introduces the new FB502 m/y “Panthera”, the 47-metre aluminium yacht, whose contemporary style is simultaneously sporty and elegant.
The FB502 M/Y “Panthera” is the second yacht in the 500s series. The first one, FB501 “Imagination”, came on the market in 2010; and the third one, FB503, is scheduled for delivery spring 2014. Constructed at Benetti’s Livorno boatyard, the 500-series yachts are 100% aluminium, 47 metres long and 8.8 metres wide. Their hull geometry ensures superior performance (maximum speed 24 knots and cruising speed 22 knots), as well as significant stability while underway; noise and vibrations are almost completely eliminated, for enhanced comfort even at higher speeds.
All this makes “Panthera” a fast and comfortable yacht with a style that reflects the refined personality of the Boatowner who has commissioned a contemporary yacht featuring timeless elegance. Clean, soaring lines and large tinted oval windows go perfectly with the metallic silver colour of the exterior, silver shades being the dominant colours of the “Panthera”. On the exterior, the teak detailing (traditionally black) is gray; and the interiors have a sophisticated combination of lighter and darker gray tones. A key feature highlighting the contemporary and carefully thoughtout aesthetic of the FB502 is given by the large fashion photos hung throughout the yacht’s main areas; whether in black and white or colour, large or small, framed or unframed, the images portray the magnetic feminine allure of gorgeous international models and actresses, adding even more glamour to this sophisticated yacht.
She wants to be – or better yet, she is – a luxury yacht, refined yet never opulent. To achieve this, Benetti architects and designers worked very closely with the Owner and his staff, so there was no need to engage any other external designer. The owner representative had clear visions regarding design and realised her ideas with determination. The work was largely one of subtraction, of eliminating excesses and ostentation; the result is a style which suggests pure beauty under the banner of simplicity, something far beyond the merely fashionable.
The FB502 has four decks: lower, main, upper, and sun deck.
The lower deck is dedicated to the guest cabins. The VIP cabin is amidships with a double bed at full-beam, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom. There are two additional double-bed cabins, each with private bathroom. All bathrooms have refined finishes in different Bisazza mosaics. Towards the bow and with a separate entrance, there are four twin-bed cabins for the crew. The mechanical room is astern of the VIP cabin; and even further astern is the garage which accommodates both a tender and jet ski, with a large door opening onto a marvellous stern swimming platform providing nearly 10 m2 for beach chairs, shower, and a highly original custom designed trampoline.
The main deck is a semi wide body. Climbing aboard astern, the elegant exterior saloon functions as a lobby onto the main saloon and is tastefully furnished with custom pieces from major Italian design companies. The fabrics and lamps are by Armani Casa as is the large, ten-person dining table, and the chairs surrounding it are by B&B. Moving towards the bow, past the main foyer, in one area there is the pantry.
The other leads to the Owner’s suite at full-beam with a spectacular view towards the bow and access to a private exterior lounge; the lounge is exclusively for the boatowner’s use, ensuring maximum privacy even at port. The cabin also has a spacious office, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom with marvelous Bisazza mosaics.
The upper deck has a large exterior area astern with couches and a covered skylounge; it also has a second VIP cabin, the captain’s cabin, and the interior piloting station. At the farthest point to the bow, there is a second area dedicated to open air living with enormous sunpad in the middle. The upper deck skylounge is one of the “Panthera’s” really special areas. It includes a fully equipped media room with terrific lounge couches of the german brand Tommy M and a maxi 46 inch movie screen; it can also be transformed into a disco with strobe lights and RGL LEDs complete with a cutting edge stereo sound system including a high-end vintage turntable for vinyl records at 33 and 45 rpm.
The sundeck offers guests a large sunpad, a corner bar, and awnings both to the bow and stern of the pool for maximum flexibility.
From a performance point of view, “Panthera” is faithful to her name, lightweight and fast. While 47 metres long, the yacht’s aluminium construction means it only displaces 340 tonnes, a feature which, when combined with the narrow and elongated semi displacement hull, delivers superior performance. The yacht has a maximum speed of 24 knots with a fuel consumption of 1.360 l/h, a 22-knot cruising speed, and a range of 3400 miles at the economical 12-knot speed.

BENETTI M/Y “OCEAN PARADISE” – FB 263 – 55 mt
-Benetti unveils the images of one of the protagonist of the next nautical season
-World debut 25th September at Monaco Yacht Show 2013 (25-28 September)
The Benetti m/y Ocean Paradise  (FB 263) was recently launched at the Benetti Livorno yard. The yacht will debut with its world avant-premiere at the next Monaco Yacht Show 2013 (25-28 September)
Built in aluminum and steel, this 55 meter vessel is based on a consolidated and tested Benetti platform, yet rich with innovative contents, especially with regards to partitioning, interior design, decor and fitting out.
With Ocean Paradise , Benetti gives further proof of their second to none capability in interpreting and adapting to Owner’s requests. Many elements make this yacht an example of custom avantguard solutions: from the furnishings to the highly elaborate illumination plan, with the use of novel architectural solutions and the combination of both transparent and opaque materials that emphasize the traditional relationship with the sea, or a more contemporary look and feel , as required.
All this is coordinated and managed by BEST (Benetti Exclusive Sea Technology), the proven domotic system adopted by the yard aboard several vessels and very much appreciated by Owners and crew.
Many of these innovations aboard Ocean Paradise  have been specifically developed by the yard’s technicians and designers, based on specific requests by the Owner – a dynamic young businessman from Singapore – who was always closely involved in the phases of design and construction.
The Benetti Ocean Paradise  was also conceived to fulfill the specific need of the charter activities, but despite this is characterized by several notable one of a kind elements, such as the designer’s research for solutions that guarantee communication between adjacent environments and especially with the sea, even while relaxing in the main saloon or lunch area. This was obtained by the intense study and development of the height of the opaque elements, and the adoption of plexiglass and crystal materials, with the absence of bulwarks in the floor to ceiling windows in the salon.
Minimalist, but never cold, and always connected with the sea: these were some of the guidelines given by the Owner for the development of this project. The Benetti team of interior and exterior designers interpreted the desires of the Owner, bringing it to an ideal fruition from both the technical and esthetic/functional points of view.
There are four guest cabins, all located on the lower deck, with access from a central hall connected to the main deck foyer. Each cabin has its own spacious bath, and a view of the sea is guaranteed by ample portholes. The Owner’s suite is located on the forward portion of the main deck, and stretches the full width of the yacht. This environment, both in size and position, is also unique for aspects such as expansive bathroom suite and a side terrace (balcony). Here, like in the rest of the vessel, an intense study by the lighting design team has created just the right atmosphere. This results from the use of LED and LED RGB, skillfully hidden in the cladding and managed by sophisticated, yet simple to use systems managed by exclusive Benetti BEST System.
Light is of primary importance throughout the entire Ocean Paradise  project, both natural light, filtered through ample openings in the yacht’s structure, in addition to transparent solutions such as the crystal skylight, and artificial light, with temperature controlled color to match the natural light.
Special attention has been paid to the passageways used by the Owner, guests and crew, skillfully separated but always able to ensure rapid service by the personnel to all shared living and private areas.
There are numerous solutions adopted to exploit the spaces and volumes designed to guarantee comfort and contact with the sea aboard the Ocean Paradise:  one is the aft beach area with adjacent relax zone and sheltered service areas, complete with a large platform created by lowering the transom door.
To create an open air area, yet hidden and independent from the tender and toy launching area, the Benetti designers have developed a system of lateral openings, complete with a mooring platform for jet-skis or the custom made 6.2 meter tender which is stowed inside the garage while under way.
The rescue boat is house in it’s own forward garage so hidden from the view of the guests and protected from the seas. The jet-skis are mounted on the foredeck in a separate area, but offering a tantalizing view from the circuit used by the Owner and his guests.
The Owner, who also has interests in interior design, was a very active participant in the design of the secondary  ambient too, with the objective of creating a natural and relaxing atmosphere, where encased Zen gardens appear, with the successful intent of infusing perceptive serenity. In bringing the natural greenery of plants aboard using transparent surfaces that double as display cases and natural light openings for the interior, the Ocean Paradise  gains a particularly eclectic atmosphere.
For his yacht the Owner has commissioned details such as the wardrobe door handles (designed by the winner of a design competition), light switches, light fixtures, automatic hatch and panel latches, chromatic contrasting leather stitching, completely clad leather interiors for lockers, and the many “hidden” storage areas perfectly integrated among the various environments.
The design motive of every area, even the smallest and least visible, has been customized by the Owner to ensure coherency with the entire project’s inspiration. This is also true on above decks, where we find an oversize swimming pool with waterfalls on the sun deck, and furnishings that suggest natural environments and facilitate the view of the sea. There is also a gym on the sun deck which dominates the ocean, and a mini bar with DJ console.
Technically, Benetti Ocean Paradise – FB263 keeps to a classic configuration: steel displacement hull, with a displacement of 651 tons and 710 gross tonnage; two CAT 3512C (1765 kW) motors with 2,367 horsepower, which always guarantee the best yacht’s performance and navigation efficiency at every speed. Cruising range is 4,000 nautical miles at an economical cruising speed of 12 knots, with an easily reachable top speed of 17 knots and a fast cruising speed of 15.5 knots using 85% of the available propulsion power.
The bridge is fully equipped with the “Integrated Bridge” Benetti technology, enabling the crew to quickly and easily monitor all onboard systems, guaranteeing safety and easy repair access when necessary. Using touch-screens, the system displays the state of all onboard systems, managing both alarms and function monitoring. From the bridge the crew has complete control of the vessel and is immediately informed of any malfunctions, even from remote areas of the vessel. This advanced system, adapted by Benetti, also allows monitoring of the AC systems to rationalize the system’s energy consumption while underway in varying atmospheric conditions.
The bridge also has modern design elements, as well as some classic in the form of the stitching in the leather work to complement the advanced technology.
Completely clad in leather with contrasting stitching and several different illumination settings, the walk-around instrument console and separate chart table, make the Bridge seems a unique design piece itself. The exterior of the wheel house allows undisrupted access from the wing station from where the Captain has excellent visibility for docking operations, and severs as an exterior crew lounge as well.
