Bentley 6 1/2 Litre – This Bentley Le Mans Eight is an exact copy of the Bentley Speed Six which was introduced in 1928 as a more sporting version of the Bentley 6½ Litre. It would become the most-successful racing Bentley, claiming victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1929 and 1930 with Bentley Boys drivers Woolf Barnato, “Tim” Birkin, and Glen Kidston.
This very impressive Bentley has just arrived. The car has driven only 800 miles since it was built. It has had a 500 miles check and is the best driving Le Mans Eight we have had until now.

The car is completely built by craftsman in the United Kingdom using the traditional methods and materials. It is a faithful and detailed recreation of one of the most evocative sports cars ever produced – The Bentley Speed Six.
Documentation is coming with the car that the Bentley Drivers Club confirms that this car was manufactured in 1951 from its original components, fitted with an ash framed tourer body.
Whilst it retains all the looks and proportions of the original Speed Six, known to be W.O.Bentley’s favourite car, it has the advantages of more modern driving characteristics including, lighter steering, up-rated brakes and suspension. This makes it not only more appropriate for current road conditions but also a delight to drive and easier and less expensive to maintain.
The engine is a rebuilt straight eight Bentley unit which is slightly modified. , modified slightly, breathing through four period SU carburettors. The ash framed, aluminium panelled body, constructed to the dimensions and proportions of the original coachwork, is covered in the traditional green leather cloth and complimented by green leather upholstery. Weather protection is provided by a double-duck hood and full-length tonneau. Period instrumentation, set into a machine turned aluminium dashboard completes the nostalgic feel of the interior.
Since this Bentley was built, it has only driven 800 miles from which a 100 miles has been driven by ourselves. We have to say that this is a unique experience. Although the Bentley is big and heavy it is relatively easy to drive. The reactions of persons on the street are amazing. A lot of people take their camera’s to make pictures and movies and the first person we spoke with described it as being amazing. It was the nicest car he had ever seen in his life.
It is indeed extremely nice. Every detail is made extensively well and therefore it takes a long time to create these cars.
It is advised to give these cars a full service 500 miles after the delivery. This specific Bentley has had that service and the car is driving therefore excellent.
